Best time to visit Heritage Safari

  • November to March has the coolest evenings. Bring a warm layer.
  • Sunset with the camels and the falcon is the best light for photos.
  • A calm evening, not dune bashing: good for couples, families and photographers.
  • Be ready in your hotel lobby from 2pm.

Is there dune bashing?

No. This is a calm heritage evening: a gentle drive through a conservation reserve in a vintage G-Class, not dune bashing.

Yes. Children aged 3 to 10 pay the child price and children under 3 go free. Children under 12 ride the camels with an adult.

Who shouldn't join?

Pregnant women, guests with back or neck problems and wheelchair users.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, casual clothes and closed shoes such as trainers, and sunglasses. Bring a warm layer from November to March.

Can I drive the G-Class?

No, a licensed driver-guide drives the vehicle.
