A museum under a rain of light

Jean Nouvel designed the Louvre Abu Dhabi as a museum-city of 55 white buildings on the sea, 23 of them galleries, under a dome 180 metres wide. Its 7,850 stars, in eight layers, scatter the sunlight into what the museum calls a rain of light. The galleries tell the story of human creativity from prehistory to today.
