Quick answer: yes, for most families. From age 2 your children can play in real snow at Mall of the Emirates, and the Snow Classic pass (AED 239 on Bloomtopia, park price AED 265) covers a full day in the Snow Park, one chairlift ride and the winter clothes. Ages 4 to 12 get the most out of it. Plan for 2 to 4 hours.
Ski Dubai is an indoor ski slope and snow park inside Mall of the Emirates, kept at about −2°C all year. For children who’ve never touched snow, it’s often the highlight of a Dubai trip. Here’s who it suits, which pass to buy, what’s included and how to make the visit easy, checked on 8 November 2026.
Is Ski Dubai good for kids?
For children aged about 4 to 12, it’s one of the best things to do in Dubai: real snow, sledging, a chairlift and penguins living on site, all in a mall with the Metro at the door.
- Ages 2 to 3: they can go in from age 2, but some Snow Park activities aren’t suitable for the youngest children. Expect an hour or so of snow play.
- Ages 4 to 12: the sweet spot. Tobogganing, the tube run, bobsleds and the Giant Ball keep them busy for hours.
- Teenagers: Snow Plus adds unlimited Mountain Thriller rides and either a slope session (for skiers who already have Intermediate Level 2) or the Snow Bullet zipline.
Good to know: children under 2 can’t go in, children under 14 must be with someone over 16, and helmets are compulsory (and provided) for under-13s.

Which one? For most families with children under 10, Snow Classic is enough. Pick Snow Plus if your children are older, want to ride the chairlift and the Mountain Thriller again and again, or if someone can already ski. The Snow Bullet zipline is for riders aged 8 and over, at least 125 cm tall and 30 kg.
What a family of four pays
Two adults and two children aged 2 or over pay AED 956 for Snow Classic on Bloomtopia (AED 1,060 at the park) or AED 1,156 for Snow Plus (AED 1,300 at the park). The passes are open-dated, so you don’t need to pick a day in advance.
What to wear and bring
The passes include a jacket, trousers, snow boots, disposable socks and fleece gloves in all sizes. Bring:
- a warm hat for each child (not included),
- long socks and a warm layer under the jacket,
- a change of clothes for small children, who tend to end up wet.
Penguins and lessons
Ski Dubai’s penguins live on site, and you may see them around the Snow Park. A Penguin Encounter isn’t included in either pass; it’s booked separately at the park.
Ski lessons start at age 3 and snowboard lessons at age 8, also booked separately.
Opening hours and when to go
Ski Dubai opens at 10am on weekdays and 9am at weekends, and stays open until 11pm or midnight, with last entry at about 10:30pm. Weekday mornings are the quietest. Hours can change, so check Ski Dubai’s site before you go.
How to get to Ski Dubai
Ski Dubai is inside Mall of the Emirates on Sheikh Zayed Road. Take the Metro Red Line to Mall of the Emirates station, which is connected to the mall, or a taxi to the mall. Mall of the Emirates bus station, next to the Metro, is served by many RTA routes.
The verdict
If your children are 4 or older and have never played in snow, Ski Dubai is worth it, and Snow Classic is the pass most families need. With 2- or 3-year-olds, keep the visit short and simple; with teens or skiers, Snow Plus is worth the extra AED 50.
